Can anyone identify this coin?
I found this coin today. It is the same size and weight as a quarter (which is why I think it may be a counterfeit). It has a lotus (similar to the one on one of the Taiwanese coins) with what looks to be a capital M in the center. It has some kind of writing on it that I cannot identify.
Here’s a link to a picture of it: http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/3265/14998116394000175661013.jpg
I forgot to add that the image on the back is exactly the same, but rotated 120 degrees (1/3 of the way around)
It seems like a lot of effort just to make a counterfeit quarter. If it is a fake… kudos to them hehe
I was working the cash register today and it was in the quarter compartment.

It is not a coin but some kind of a token. It is not a fake coin for it is not a coin. Most likely from an arcade. Maybe some one here will recognize it. You can also see if one is up for sale on eBay under arcade or game token. Best i can do here.
I don’t think that counterfeit man, It maybe just some oriental coin that you aren’t familiar with. Better question is: How did you end up with it? find it on the ground?
Looked for it on different search but couldn’t find one. Since you put it has the same stamping on both sides and was in your cash register, someone slipped you it in their change while paying. It could be a token from someone who arrived in the country from vacation or to live where you are.
If have to find out what the symbols mean. It may not be worth anything but you can keep it aside till you find out what it is. Just don’t try to slip it to a customer for change.
