Can this coin be counterfeit? How much is it worth?
I have a coin that looks just like the one in the pictures in the link below:
http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=27101&Lot_No=13118&type=tueicr27101-tem092907
Could this be fake? How could I tell?
I actually have 2 of them. Could anyone help me find out the value of them of them?
Is this a dollar coin, twenty dollar coin or what?

What do they look like, condition-wise, compared to these pictures? The condition of this coin, though it looks very dark in the coin holder in the normal-sized pictures, is a very, very high grade. It essentially has no wear at all and shows full, clear details.
If your coins show details (the lines in Liberty’s hair, the eagle’s feathers) that are similar to the pictured coin, and they have no discoloring, they are unquestionably counterfeit. It is a rare coin with a very low mintage, and the chances of one person having two of them in top condition are higher than the chances of the same person being hit by lightning, twice.
umm it is hard to tell but I think it may be worth like 20$ or maybe even less!
The coin in the link is a dime (if you’ll notice, right after the date is says "10 C")
If yours are real, here are values for the various 1796 coins in "About Good" condition, which basically means "worn flat"
10c: $1500
25c: $12,000
50c: $35,000
$1: $1200
I would be really, really surprised if one or both of them are real. Early US coins have been extensively faked.
Without some experience, it would be impossible for you to be able to tell if it’s real. Probably your best bet would be to take it to a coin shop and have them give you their opinion. If it turns out that one or both of them look legitimate to him, he will probably suggest you submit them to a "certification service" who can authenticate them, assign them a grade, and "encapsulate" them in a tamper-resistant holder.
Because of the number of counterfeit early US silver, a "raw" (uncertified) coin would not bring as much money when you went to sell it.
