Do American coins work in Canadian vending machines?
Canadian coins often (always) fall through US vending machines and are not accepted. I was just wondering if the reverse was true up North.

yes our machines take US coins and the older ones took US nickels as quarters!
Coin counters in ANY vending machine are designed to accept SPECIFIC coins. In general, there is not reason for most machines to accept coins from other countries. That said, the only machines in Canada I have ever actually used were at Niagara Falls. Due to significant US tourism, those machines DID accept both US and Canadian coins.
