How do I go about selling my coins on line?
I collected coins as a boy and have held them for 50+ years. I have decided to start selling them online individually. What I need to know is just about everything involved in the process. A complete education. Right now I need to know what the easiest method to photograph them is. I think it must take specialized equipment as a stationary magnifier ? And what is the best economical product to encase each one in for shipping. I hope that the pictures I post will let the buyers do their own grading ?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I intend to sell my 1932 s Washington Quarter to finance this, as I believe it to be AU 55 or 58 (When I collected we used XF) and should be worth a few hundred dollars. But how do I keep a buyer from returning a counterfeit and negating a sale ?

You might consider getting the 1932-S Washington Quarter slabbed and certified by ANACS, NGC, or PCGS. eBay is a relatively easy way to sell coins, but they charge quite a high percentage for the privilege, and their major method of online payment is a company called PayPal which also will charge fees. You should browse the Coins & Paper Money section of eBay to get a good idea of what you might want your auctions to look like. You might consider other online auction sites, but none of them get the traffic that eBay does. You can always go to a local coin dealer to see what they will offer as a comparison. If you get good lighting, you can get fairly good photos from a mid-range camera with a mount to keep it steady, and scanners also give good photo quality of coins with the right settings. Also I used padded envelopes or bubble mailers and mylar 2×2 coin holders to ship most coins. I hope all that helps.
