Taking Canadian money into Canada?

This is probably the most stupid question ever asked, but I am concerned.
I have about worth of Canadian coins, mostly pennies, and am planning a trip to Canada. It is illegal to take large amounts of US pennies out of the US.
I cannot imagine that I would get arrested for returning Canadian coins to Canada, but weird things do happen occasionally at border crossings.
Does anybody here work at the border?
