The King’s Gold Coins?
I really need help with this problem:
The king has 8 gold coins. One of the coins is counterfeit and weighs less than the others. The king has only a balance scale. How can the king find the counterfeit coin using the LEAST number of weighings?

Take 3 gold coins and balance with another 3.
If they do balance, then just balance the last two and you can find out which coin is the counterfeit coin.
If they don’t balance, they just take the group of 3 that was lighter and take two of those coins and balance them. If they balance, then the 3rd coin in the group is counterfeit, and if they don’t balance, then the lighter side is the counterfeit coin.
You need only 2 Weightings.
