What can I do when my local corner store gives me Canadian change?
My Sister and I keep getting Canadian pennies from the local little store we frequent. What should we do with the Canadian Pennies that keep accumulating? I know they won’t be recognized by the coin counter machines at the supermarket. Should we push the issue with the owners/workers at the little store?
Yes! When they give them to you, give them right back. If they give you a hard time, shop elsewhere. Good Luck!
Save them up and go for a Holiday in Canada
I work at a grocery store in Canada and we get/use American pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters interchangeably.. they’re basically the same, give or take a few half cents(we never use the exchange rate when dealing with them).. our vending machines take them, stores accept them.. its not a problem here.. my dash in my car is full of American and Canadian change.. I don’t see a difference in value.
