What do you think of Churches that use fish nets to collect the donations?
The reason is so that you have to give paper money instead of a few paltry coins.
Most countries start their paper money at the .00 bill.
So effectively it means a 5 buck minimum donation.
Yes, it is a real practice.
You do not normally see it in small Churches, mostly the supersized Churches.
Rhodes, I was asking your opinion on the practice and the detail was just to clarify what the practice is for those who might not be sure of what I meant.
If you can’t answer the question then don’t.

Never heard of the practice, is it really used anywhere?
It seems a bit short sighted to me, i like gold dollars and those nickels dimes and quarters that kids put in can really add up.
Clever Christians.
That’s pretty devious for a church. XD
They are catching SUCKERFISH!
I would question that church’s financial motives.
Thigh-high fishnets?
Sign me up.
They should just pick people up by their ankles and shake them until everything comes out of their pockets.
still better than a visa card
I have never seen this done. What ever works for them and their members is fine. If they passed around a urinal that would be fine too.
ANY collection jar, net, etc… is a scam. They may as well pass around bed pans cause the money goes down the pisser anyway.
If that is the case, I say it is very clever. I’ve seen every method you can think of. If the people want to give, it’s their business and not yours. Concern yourself with your own affairs.
I would take out my change purse, shrug my shoulders and pass the net along. That’s a little "unholy" I think (pun intended) as it obviously excludes the poor and sends the message you have to have a certain amount of money to worship there. Maybe take a small fish wrapped in see-through plastic and toss it in the net as it makes its round with a note taped on it that reads "I’m no big fish".
so u answer your own questions to make christians look bad? thats pretty lame dude, this is for questions and answrs ao dont use it as a blog type thing.
Who uses fishnets anyway? what church is this?
My church it is at the front before you enter if you so wish you give to God, I believe it is called for and needed, If your being well fed you pay for the meal! I am also interested in what Church this is do they use Big salmon nets for the big tithers, little trout nets for small givers ,and minnow nets for the atheist section!
As a Christian, I have never seen this practice before; but I’m not saying it doesn’t happen. If it does, this is a sad thing, because sometimes all people have are a few coins to give, and God honors even those small gifts.
Mark 12
41Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins,[j]worth only a fraction of a penny.[k]
43Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on."
