What is the Conservative view on money itself? Money is government - controlled. Shouldn't Cons reject money?
The government mints money, controls its value with monetary policy, a Federal Reserve, Trade policies, etc. The Government defends money from counterfeiting, it defends banks, and regulates them all federally. It says the name of the US federal Government right on every dollar and coin. Jesus said that’s why you should have no interest in money, just give it back to the government that minted it.
Shouldn’t Conservatives and especially Libertarians reject government controlled money and go to a barter system?

Money is not wealth. If you printed money and gave it to everyone without anyone working for it, then what would they buy with it? Money’s only good if people are working to produce the goods and services that are traded.
Accordingly, when someone has a lot of money, technically it means he has done a lot of work for mere paper. If he just keeps his paper to himself (accumulating money), then that means everyone else can enjoy the products he has produced, and the only cost to the rest of us, for all of those products, has been the cost of his paper money.
When government prints and spends money, it dilutes the value of the money that other people have earned. That is how government steals from the public. Inflation is all about government printing money so it can increase the share of the economy that it consumes without raising other taxes. Inflation itself is a hidden tax.
You ask why conservatives and libertarians don’t reject government money. Haven’t you seen all the commercials on TV for gold? When the dollar crashes, gold (existing in a relatively stable quantity) will "go up." In reality the gold is mostly staying the same while government currencies collapse, making it only appear as though the price of gold has skyrocketed.
Anyway, the people buying this sort of gold are doing exactly what you’re asking about. They recognize the fraud of government currency, and are instead placing their wealth in something the government cannot inflate. They are rejecting fiat money, and buying a natural alternative.
By the way, conservatives do not reject government. They simply understand that government is bound by the Constitution to play a small role in people’s lives — the definition of liberty.
Yes.
Pay your doctor with chickens.
The conservative view of money is that liberals keep trying to steal mine to give it to lazy parasites.
lol…..60% of the people in the US are living off some sort of government assistance (welfare, ssi, ssd, food stamps, medicare etc. exactly what do you expect them to barter with?….
as a libertarian i believe that the central bank in the usa, the federal reserve, should be eliminated immediately. some conservatives like ron paul agree with me on this. you are correct though, i do not believe the government should be involved in money at all. banks and money and trade should all be private.
when you said "the government defends money from counterfeiting". didnt you mean, the government is the only entity allowed to legally counterfeit by printing money backed by nothing which robs all the people who cant counterfeit through inflation?
you do realize that the federal reserve is an organization of 12 private banks that were appointed by the government right? and every time they lend money to the government we are paying it back to them through interest? that is why the income tax was invented. to pay back the interest of the federal reserve.
Money is bartering. I’ll give you this piece of paper that says $1 on it if you give me that pack of gum.
Just watch all of these videos and learn what the future of our phony money will yield. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVkFb26u9g8 It doesn’t matter what people say about the money system they still cannot prevent it from ending in disaster. We must get back to a hard money system. We can choose to do it or it will be forced on us by necessity in a disaster.
