why do canadian coins STILL depict british royalty?
i know at one time it was a part of britian. but why still do they depict brits? is it because they are just THAT darn humble? or are they like muslims where they can depict their own leaders or they will be beheaded?

Queen Elizabeth II is technically the head of state
Canada is still a part of the British Commonwealth, so Queen Elizabeth II is still our monarch (head of state). She really doesn’t hold any power and it’s largely just symbolic, it’s just carried on more for recognition of tradition than any real reason.
Personally I think it’s outdated and we should get rid of it before Charles becomes king. No one here respects that asshat.
I guess I dont really know alot about Canadian currency but Im guessing it is because its part of the heratages and history of Canada.
The British Royalty is also the Canadian Royalty so as Head of State of Canada She is still placed on the coinage as she is the living symbol of the nation in such a postion.
