Challenge Coins: Enough History - Enough Explaining
Challenge Coins: Enough History - Enough Explaining
Ever just wished challenge coin sites would stop endlessly telling you how awesome challenge coins are or even how intense the collecting is? Us too. Consider this a message begging challenge coin companies out there to be creative and stop writing worthless articles about the history of the challenge coin which everyone knows there isn’t one. Consider this an article telling companies to quit writing articles just to have links to your below par challenge coin website. Consider this a plea for web surfers to not support companies that write lame articles to attract you to their website.
I think collectors deserve to be treated with some intelligence. If you are going to take the time to write an article about military coins then do it with some style. Tell us something important. We really don’t think your website is the “bees knees” or interesting.
When writing challenge coin articles give the user something to come to your site for. If your article is the run of the mill or boring and just a repetition so you can back link your site to death then I can only assume your site is awful too. Come on people… be interesting!
Challenge coins have no history, they are not the hottest thing in the market, they are not awesome to buy, they are none of those things. Take the hobby for what it really is. The hobby is a bunch of people who enjoy buying, selling, trading, earning coins and put them into racks for display. These aren’t video games or the lottery. I suppose as a coin company owner I am a bit biased about articles that I find. Perhaps I actually care about the hobby too. All the articles I have found thus far are to build links to a site that potentially is only in it for the money. There is no value.
So this article is not just complaining, which there is a lot of it, but also to encourage companies and individuals to write stuff people actually want to read. Don’t worry you will probably only gain more interest and still get your links. Give me some great stuff about the hobby, a coin that was released, a new service introduced, or just any except the stuff you have been writing so far. On a second note quit being anonymous in your whois information because you lose a ton of credibility by savvy users. I mean we know who you are but everyone else doesn’t.
The hobby can be fun if we choose to make it that way. It just makes me sad that U.S. Challenge Coins, LLC was built on the premise of taking care of the collectors which is why we built Challenge Coin Auctions, Challenge Coin Database, Challenge Coin Directory, Challenge Coin Forum, Challenge Coin Trading and about 300 other sites dealing with collectors. We only have 5 sites dedicated to sales so I think it’s obvious how committed we are. Show me one, just one other company out there that cares like that. Call yourself whatever you want but it’s obvious it’s nothing more than a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
This was written to help the hobby become valuable and not washed out like some sites are desperately trying to do. Don’t worry I fell into the trap of articles that were embarrassing to read today, but then again I had no one to tell me not to do it.
