Orlando Mercedes dealer to have the super safe 2012 SLK on lots soon

If the ultimate goal in a vehicle is the safety it can provide you, there is really only one brand in the world worth turning to - Mercedes-Benz. The engineers at Mercedes-Benz are literally obsessed with making their vehicles incredibly safe; it is almost like a game to them - how safe can we actually make it. Game or not, safety is certainly their motto. Founder Gottlieb Daimler coined the phrase “the best or nothing” and this phrase seems to have turned into the principle that the company lives by. When considering their new 2012 SLK class, it’s safe to say they are exceeding their own expectations. The 2012 SLK class, which will be available early next year at your local Orlando Mercedes dealer, is a line of sports cars that, for Mercedes-Benz standards, are fairly reasonably priced (starting around K to K). They certainly look more expensive than they really are. But what is most impressive for the price is the slew of safety features that accompany the vehicle as standard attributes. The SLK is arguably the safest vehicle on any Orlando Mercedes dealer lot. Again, it is almost as though the engineers behind the SLK class made its design a game because it’s no doubt that with the SLK, you win.To start, the SLK has the incredible feature Attention Assist that Mercedes-Benz introduced to the world a few years ago as a standard feature. The technology, in layman terms, essentially measures your eyeball from the dash behind the steering wheel and when your eyelids begin to look drowsy, the vehicle beeps and a picture of a cup of coffee pops up behind the wheel with the question of “need a break”. Attention Assist is quite clever and somewhat humorous thanks to the inclusion of good ol’ dependable Joe, but when you consider the amount of accidents it has prevented in Orlando, Mercedes-Benz’ technology is no laughing matter.New to the SLK, and the world as well, is the safety features that Mercedes-Benz has collectively coined PRE-SAFE. PRE-SAFE is basically a system that detects a number of different accidents that may arise and attempts to alter the vehicle as need be in order to avoid them. Think of the system as your mother watching over you. For example, PRE-SAFE Brakes do things like automatically apply the breaks before a head-on collision occurs. They also work with Mercedes-Benz’ DISTRONIC PLUS proximity control and together, the two systems keep the SLK at a safe distance behind other vehicles. The two systems are extremely useful in bumper-to-bumper traffic. If the vehicle anticipates the need to brake, it will beep at the driver and apply just a portion of the needed brakes, giving the driver a chance to take over. If, however, the driver does not react, the PRE-SAFE Brake system will finish the job by applying the remaining brakes needed - just like any good mother would. It is no question that a number of collisions have been prevented in Orlando, Mercedes-Benz the vehicle to thank. The aforementioned safety features are just a small peak at all of the abilities of the 2012 SLK class. The safety of cars on the market today is really incredible in general, making the over-achieving character traits of Mercedes-Benz SLK vehicle even more impressive.
