Is it really true that when "Prince William" becomes king Canadian coins will be finally with a mens face.?
Is it really true that eventually in the future all Canadian coins will have a picture of the king instead of the queen?

New coins will have the new monarch’s head on. However, old coins will still be legal tender. All British coins now have the present Queen’s head on but until the 5p was resized in the 1990s, Victorian shillings and those with kings’ heads on were still legal tender.
In the UK until decimalisation in the early 1970s all victorian and later coins were legal tender no matter which monarch’s head was on them.
All news about prince william wedding live.
Unless the relationship between Canada and the monarchy changes in a fundamental way in future years currency will continue to carry the image of the British Monarch….whomever that may be.
You’ll get Prince Charles first - unless he dies before the queen. Which is possible…
Only new coins will get the new monarch’s head. Old ones will still be kept around for their natural lives. This is a lot less noticable because most coins have been redesigned whilst the queen has been on the throne, so we only ever see ones with her face on them. Before her it was pretty common to see coins (certainly in the UK) with Victoria on in the 1950s.
Yes - and before that they’ll show Prince Charles’s face if and when he becomes king.
Canadian money always shows the head of the current Canadian monarch on it. It’ll take a few years for the new ones to work through the system as coins last a long time - I’m British and I remember coins with the head of King George VI on them long after he was dead - but it won’t take so long for all the dollar bills to be changed as they wear out faster.
When Charles becomes King, the coins will change, and, he will face to our left (as you look at the coin), the opposite of his mom. This is switched with every monarch. So, when William takes over after Charles dies, the coins will change, and William will face the same way Elizabeth does not.
Stamps will change as well, and of course, official portraits.
What is unknown is if the crowns will change. George VI (and his predecessors) used the Tudor Crown, often called the King’s Crown. Elizabeth used St. Edward’s Crown, often called the Queen’s Crown. It will be up to Charles to decide which crown to use. He may stay with what we have now, change it, or use a completely different crown altogether.
If there is a change, then the Canadian coat of arms, military, and police badges, and basically all official badges and arms using a crown will change as well.
Charles’ head will be on the coins before Williams.
Charles’ image will be the left profile, Williams will be the right.
Unless the Prince of Wales dies first, Charles will beat him to it.
The reason Canada (and the UK and the rest of the commonwealth) have a queen now is because her father, George VI, had no sons. That meant that Elizabeth, as the oldest daughter, became "queen regnant" (meaning a queen who actually rules). If all goes according to plan, when William ascends the throne, Kate Middleton will be "queen consort" (meaning a queen who is the wife of the king)
Ummm. Probably before William becomes king, because, you know, Charles will likely be king before him…being NEXT in line for the throne.
You know, there was a king on Canadian money BEFORE 1952, as well…King George VI…I have the pennies to prove it! And before him, Edward VIII. And before him, George V. And before him, Edward VII. Do you notice a pattern, here?
Eventually yes, however Charles would first appear. All Canadian money does not have the Monarchs image on it. The $5 - $10 bill does not.
Charles is the heir to the throne;he will be king if he outlives his mother. William is his father’s heir and second line succession.Well,YES.Stamps,coins,the wording to God Save the Queen will all change to reflect the gender of the monarch.Coins bearing the late monarch’s visage will slowly be removed from circulation while the new monies bearing the new monarch’s profile enter circulation.
I don’t expect anyone to agree with me, but since Prince Charles is much older and his reign will most likely be a very short time. It would be very expensive to have all the coins changed into his image and then again in a few short years changed again with William’s image being on the face of the coin. This is just my opinion.
Maybe others see my point in the cost of having to change the coins over, then over again. I really don’t know since it’s just my opinion.
@Arctic Spirit: New coins are minted every year, so I would imagine they will print Charles’ profile for his years on the throne. The only cost is creating the design; all the previous years’ coins will remain in circulation.
