is it illegal to mail U.S. coins to Canada?
A Canadian pen pal has asked me to send her a State quarter each time I write, so she can collect the. In all, that would total about .25 so far. I write about every 2 weeks, so it will take time. Just wondered if it is OK to mail 25 cents a to a friend in Canada, each time I write to her.

I mail quarters to Canada and to Australia. I tape the quarter to the letter, then fold the letter like 4 times, so the quarter really isn’t noticed. The only thing is, it does make the letter a little heavier, and cost a little more for postage.
But, it works that way.
I can’t imagine why it would be illegal.
gosh on any given day, I’ll have a US coin in amongst my Cdn change.. they’re fairly ubiquitous and ¢.25 is not like they would or could charge duty on it
