The value of old coins I have?
I have 2 coins. The first is from 1907..on the front is a head, wearing a band that says ‘libertas’ across it. Around the edge it says ‘Confoederatio Helvetica". On the back, in the center, is a #5 and is surrounded by a wreath made of grape vines.
The second is a Canadian coin from 1920. On the front is a head, wearing a crown, along the edges it says "Goergivs V Dei Gra: Rexetind: Imp:". On the back, in the center, it says ‘ 5 cents Canada 1920" and is surrounded by a wreath that has a crown near the top.
If you know anything please answer! I’m curious as to what they might be worth…I’ve had them forever!
Thanks in advance!

First coin: 5 Rappen (aka 5 Centimes) copper-nickel coin from Switzerland ("Helvetica").
Secoond coin: a small 5 Cents silver coin from Canada, from the reign of King George V (1910-1936).
Both coins had relatively high mintages (over 5 and 10 million, respectively) and are thus common. The Swiss coin has a catalog value of $1 in Very Fine condition (what you’d typically find this coin in, in circulation), although in the US this might go for 5 or 10 cents in a bulk lot of world coins. If spent as change in Switzerland, it also has a face value of 1/20 of a Swiss Franc, which is worth around 80 US cents right now, so the equivalent of about 4 cents US in exchange value.
The Canadian coin has a catalog value of $1.25 in Very Good (a lower grade, again its typical circulation grade), and also contains about 35-40 cents in silver bullion value (.03 Troy ounces at $12/Troy oz.). It also still is legal tender for 5 Canadian cents when spent in Canada, also 4 cents US in current exchange value.
To find the value of a coin, you really need an appraiser. Get out the phonebook and check your area for coin shops. They’ll usually have someone (either in-store or on call) who can appraise coins.
