Here's an old piece of paranoia revisited…?

Those evil Canadians spying on our defense contractors by putting microphones in coins.
This story makes no sense. What if they spend the coins?
This is a repeat of a story that happened during the cold war, and it made no sense then either.
I think the idea is to make people think the world is spying on the poor little US of A. Like we don’t spy on them…
Actually, if you take about ten seconds to think about it, the whole thing is pretty amusing. It must cost quite a bit to manufacture the microcomponents for such devices. But the device gets transferred into some cash register as part of less than a dollar purchase.
‘Intelligence?’ Now there’s a funny word.
No question here, sorry. Just an observation.
I’d like to know why the Canadians are using American technology to spy on us. that’s almost funny!
there is always some kind of stupid rumor of this sort floating around. many have a conspiracy theory they like to spread. besides..canadians evil…i doubt it.
Its the Canadian’s version of "intel" and the Canadians show their brilliance in this field by spying on cash registers. Though you could look at it in a couple other ways.
a- Canadians want to track their citizen’s spending habits.
b- Bush is using the Canadians to spy on his own citizens.
c- Bush again is somehow at fault.
