Where can I cash in Canadian coins? My local bank won’t take them. ?
I have some canadian coins and my local bank won’t take them. Says I have to go to the Canadian embassy. Can that be true?

Pretty close to right. In the US a Canadian coin is foreign currency, might as well be brazilian reals (probably not how you spell it). However they are not that hard to convert to US dollars. Good news is last time I checked the Canadian dollar was actually worth more then the US dollar. Just go to anywhere that buys and sells foreign currency. In the UK most high street banks will buy and sell it, as will the post office. They all charge rip off rates, but their all you will find unless you have a few thousand dollars.

International Airports have specific machines that change foreign coins. They should be fairly close to car parks and train stations, I seem to remember they were easy to find at Gatwick I would imagine the same for the other international airports as well
